Lucidity (A Snippet)
2014
Role: Visual Programmer, Singer, Producer
Background: This piece was created as an experiment in audio-reactivity. Aseem had been designing visuals for a while, but mostly stand-alone loops and such. The idea of a generative Jitter patch creating visuals in real-time by analyzing audio coming in from Ableton Live was worth exploring and yielded quite interesting results.
About: The music, created in Ableton Live, is analyzed real-time by a custom Max For Live patch, which also sends this analyzed data over OSC to a custom Jitter patch waiting to read these values and apply them to various parameters of a mesh. Various elements of the visuals respond to the audio, some in direct and some in more subtle ways.
Software/Systems Used: Ableton Live, Max/MSP/Jitter
